Please Help! How Did You All Scored 50 on the TSE?

Please, please, please help me. Any advice from anyone would be appreciated.

I have passed the CGFNS & NCLEX, and have a passing score on TOEFL.

All I need is a passing score on the TSE. I have been taking the test for a year, but still unable to get 50. I don't know what to do.

I need advice from those who have scored 50. What do you think the key ingredients I should include in my speech would be to boost up my score?

Also, has anybody taken the IELTS? What do you think of it? Easier than the TSE? The reason I have not been on the IELTS path is that the test requires the applicant of taking all of the bands every time until I get a passing score.

I feel desperate....

Hi. I took the TSE more than a year ago with a score of 50. Honestly I forgot all I learned from my TSE reviews. But what is important is not to rush answering the questions. Think and start speaking with a clear voice.

I would suggest taking the IELTS instead. Why? Because the IELTS is not time pressured unlike the TSE. The topics are usually related to current situation like your job, hobbies, etc. And its nice talking to a person unlike in TSE you are talking to a tape recorder.

I spent one year (may be more) for TSE and waisted my time.But I passed IELTS very easily at the first attempt.So go for it.The reason I was not taken IELTS before was the same reason you said before that I have to attend all bands (reading,listening ,writing etc.)also alredy passed TOEFL.Good luck.

I took the TSE about a year ago and fortunately I got 50 on my first attempt. I can remember i spoke loud and clear and try to make sense to answer the questions. I didn't went to any formal review but i practiced with a tape recorder two months prior taking the exam. I don't know anything about the IELTS.

I recently took the TSE and got a 50. I think the problem is that people tend to spend time thinking of the "correct" answers to the questions. The secret is NOT to concentrate too much on impressing the examiners by getting the "right" answer but on impressing them by answering clearly enough for your words to be understood no matter WHAT your answer is. Don't speak too slowly and deliberately though. It may sound as if you are reading a scripted answer and that is definitely a no-no. TRY AGAIN AND GOOD LUCK THIS TIME.

Hi...I help prepare foreign-trained professionals now living in Canada for English language proficiency tests such as TSE TOEFL and IELTS. I'm hoping to do the same in Asia in the near future. I understand the frustration that these tests, especially the TSE, cause. I think you have to try some practice tests of each type and then decide which option is best suited to you.

Personnally speaking, I feel speaking part of IELTS is easier, if not the rest, which you could very well pick up with training. I feel Ielts speaking easier because you are having a face to face question answer model. advantages: they understand u, so though u may babble in the beginning, their demeanor helps you relax. A face to face talk is always better than a telephonic or taped conversation and you are able to give and take responses better as you see nonverbal cues. I also attended to TSE once and could not reach pass mark. Of course, I was tensed and had not prepared much as I was working; but then the same scenario went for me in the IELTS exam and I got with it. for most of the foreign nurses, it is the speaking and listening part that is difficult. So once you get to know the exam style, focus on the weak part. Once again, It is my strong personal belief that speaking part of IELTS is easier than TSE and listening part tougher than TOEFL.

Good luck with your decision and preparation. You can definitely pass. Don't give up though it is tough

well honestly you dont have to prepare much.i passed all my verbal (and written-Aussie and US) exams without much preparations. All i did was watch movies and talk shows.if you enjoy doing that you will OK. good luck:p

Hello. We solved the problem with TSE by taking academic module IELTS with average score 7,0. It's an affordable one!

What do u mean by that.IS it that we need 7 overall band score in IELTS for visascreening???

We need 6.5-overall band and 7.0-Speaking module.I failed once TSE-i earned 45 .Good luck.

Apart from TOEFL and TSE is there any other english test that has to be taken for the Visa screen program.
