Hi Kay

Once you have approval a file is created in NVC which generates a fee (what a surprise :) ) Then a packet is sent out to you which has to be completed better sooner than later. Once they recieve back this packet the NVC then reviews the packet and then sends it to our local consulate office (London) then we recieve more paperwork but also the interview date and a phone number to sort the medical out (London, Birmingham,Edinburgh) I have been advised to take photocopies of all the paperwork as at the interview as they will keep some of them.

Hope that is a little bit clearer :)

Apparently I have filled in all this paperwork for OGP post nclex and they hold it and then just send it off as required when requested. I have now been advised to do a crb type check for the US embassy.

Hi madwife2002: I've been reading your post, and I think I'm at the same point that you are.I've also filled all the forms and sent them all in one mail, at the beginning of the process. And now, my lawyer asks me to send money, something called initial consular fee. My point is, should I have to pay something else at the consulate, because as it's initial; I don't know really how much it would cost at last. Do you know anything else' Thank you

Hi,

The green card processing money is sent at the begining of the green card process that costs $385 per person it has just gone up. Then you will have to pay for the medical which again has gone up, around $325 per person per medical, you pay that at the time of te medical i believe. I dont know how much it costs for the visa screen as my agency paid for that.

No You dont have to pay any more money at the embassy, unless your medical is on the same day. It is my understanding that medicals are now held 2 weeks prior to the green card interview. We will have to keep each other informed where we are up to
