I was wanting to know if there are any RN's that went to Platt here?
I just wanted to now how the experience was and if you have had any problems getting jobs because you went to Platt?
I am supposed to start their LPN program next month and want to bridge that to the RN program. But I have found some threads here that state they wouldnt go to Platt.
I am jus so worried, I have messed around a long time and I am really focused on going to school now. Platt seeems good for me becasue I have the chance to go full time and not work. So it is kind of like a job for me (I was a horrible student before).
Please help!!!!

I am also supposed to start the LPN program at Platt february. I had also planned on going further to RN with them as well. I guess we are in the same boat because I have heard plenty of bad things about Platt. I have also recently found out that Platt is NOT accredited by the National League of Nurses. It was a bummer for me and I am having second thoughts now about attending. The hours are perfect and the school is right down the street from my house. If you hear anything GOOD about Platt, please let me know. I dont want to give up yet. Also, do you know if going to an accredited NLN school is really important or not????

i too am considering platt. i can start in jan 08 for lpn and be done in 11.5 months. i was worried about the nln until i called some colleges. only occc requires u to take 2 additional classes and a ace test before getting in to their rn program if you did not attend a nln program. No other college around okc cares if nln or not as long as you are licensed by the ok board of nursing. I do not plan to take rn through them, ou has a lpn to bsn program that is half the cost of platt and there is not a waiting list. the catch is u have to have one year working experience as a lpn, and all ge classes. the class starts in aug finshes in may for the full time. I was also wondering what platt campus starts in feb? the moore campus starts in jan.

Sorry, but I would stay away from Platt.
I have known way to many people who have graduated from their RN and LPN program and wouldn't recommend it to anyways.
I'm not trying to busy anyone bubble but I am about to graduate from nursing school and I work in an ICU, Platt is nothing I would recommend to anyone.
Oklahoma has a lot of GOOD quality nursing programs to choose from. If your gpa is low, then bust your butt to bring it up---don't settle for a bad quality program. I goofed off a lot when I was younger and actually had a 1.2 gpa which I brought up to a 3.8 and got into the program of my choice.

I am in Platt's Lpn-RN program and will graduate Feb.08. I did there part-time 22 month long evening program, and actually drive 90 miles one way to attend 3 nights a week. Since this program is still fairly new for them it could probably be a little more organized, but the instructors are wonderful, and are currently all working on their doctorate. No generic professors here. The Eve 08 class has been told to be the most mature and brightest yet. Apparently there where some real fruit loops before in the last couple of classes. How the student's represent themselves is what makes a school reputable. The more people here about this program the harder it will be to get in and therefore weed out the idiots that should not be in nursing in the first place. I recommend Platt College on Memorial in OKC!!! Also in case some don't know basically in the part-time class 11 months is gen ed and 11 months nursing. If you have the gen ed in their program they will transfer your credit for a c or higher ,but if you have no credit you can take all your gen ed there. I went to Cameron University and could not get in the gen eds there, I would probably just now be getting into the nursing courses.

This is probably a little late, but I did notice in one of my BON newsletters that they had one of the lowest NCLEX-RN pass rates.
I did their RMA class almost ten years ago before going to nursing school. It was just mediocre, and very expensive.
