Picking a school

Published

I was looking into a for profit school for the simple fact I like how its set up with the pre reqs in the program. I found out I do not have enough aid to help pay for the program..I started and stopped too many times. I recently completed my associates in medical assisting, I think I'm going to be considered under grad though. I can get state and local grants and such but it can only be a non profit, community college or vocational school. I want to get my RN preferably a program that's laid out with pre reqs in it for me. I'm not wanting it to take 3 years to finish either.. Any suggestions would be awesome, I'm in Missouri.

Pleeeeease be careful and research other posts here re the MEGA pitfalls of for-profit schools.

You surely don't want to be coming back here in a year or so as a deflated wreck because of your choice. Too many adverse variables can make your future educational & career endeavors a nightmare.

Forewarned is forearmed.

I was asking for other options with a similar lay out. For profit is not an option.

Make sure you know EXACTLY how much you will be paying. Many people just take out loans and think "I will worry about it later". Not a good idea. Paying double or triple to a for profit is verging on total insanity.

I am going to have to pay out of pocket so probably just going to have to go to the community college then the the university. I just am very impatient and like things more instant..I had to drop my classes this semester and the fact it was my third time doing anatomy concerns me for getting in the programs. I was working too much, but recently quit that job and just work one now... Still put me back about 6 months .
