Hi,
Can anyone help me out on this question?
During transcription a mRNA is formed from the DNA template. This mRNA is then translated in the translation process using ribosomes and tRNA. If the DNA sequence was ACCAAACCG what would be the nucleotide sequence or anticodon of the transfer RNA (tRNA) for the first codon?
1. ACC
2. TGG
3. UGG
4. UGGUUUGGC
Note: UGG is not the answer, I asked my professor.
Much appreciated! :thankya:

i guess TGG then but i feel like it should be UGG because RNA uses uracil

I reread this several times and I think this is the thought process:
During transcription a mRNA is formed from the DNA template
the DNA sequence was ACCAAACCG
So, make your mRNA sequence from the DNA sequence and you'll get TGGTTGGC.

ACC.
I think. LOL, it's been awhile, but that's what I want to say.

I replied on your on the other thread involving this ?? but I believe it is ACC! The reason is because your dna is ACC so your MRNA is UGG and then the anticodon for UGG is ACC.
lol yup, I was just looking for a second option. And you guys are right.
I understand now where my problem was, I was right in saying UGG for the mRNA but then i stopped and didn't move on to the anticodon. So ACC it is
Thank you again :)
