Hi everyone!
So, I'm a little stressed out and nervous because I had a phone interview today for a new grad NICU residency position (my second). The job is located in WA and I live in NH. This is my dream job. Is it possible to get hired from only a phone interview? I really want to fly out there to show my face, meet the staff and tour the facility. My phone interview today consisted of 6 people interviewing me on speaker phone. Is it possible to get hired from just the phone interviews? Having all 6 of them there, including the clinical director and nurse manager means something, right? Ugh...they said they will be interviewing through next week and they will contact me and let me know their decision either way. This is so unnerving! Thanks!

Yep, a phone interview is all it takes for some places. I wish you luck!

Since they had an entire panel, you should consider that their *real* interview, just conducted over the phone, rather than in person. Good luck!
Thank you!

Yep. I've been hired out of state with just a mere 10 minute phone interview before. Wishing you the best of luck!

Wow, all the way cross country!
I wonder why they cannot find any NGs wanting that one in WA? Not that you shouldn't be considered for the job, but I just don't get it I guess. You'd have to take a huge leap of faith. I would rec doing what another NG re-locator did, she signed a 3 month temporary lease. That way you don't get totally screwed if it should not work out.
Best of luck to you!!
