Hi all,
I'm gonna be going to a CNA course but it doesn't start until Oct. since i have all this time i really don't want to waste it by not going to school or anything so i was thinking about doing a Phlebotomy course before I do my CNA program. What do you all think?

Do it, do it, do it. You are more marketable this way!

You might as well just become a phlebotomist. They make more money (at least where I work). I would love to become a phlebotomsit. It is especially good if you are going to go to nursing school. Good luck and I would just forget the CNA and become a phlebotomist. Again Good Luck.

Yeah, but it's easier to actually get a job as a CNA once you have the license. At least where I live.

I would suggest get your NA I , NA II , Phlebotomy ( then take a medication aide course) in that order if you want to get into nursing. This is the way I done it and I feel being a NA going into the Phlebotomy program really helped me out. I have done it this way in order to get points for the nursing program . I now have the skills of drawing blood and passing meds so when I do get in the nursing program I will not feel like a "fish out of water:uhoh3:" when they start teaching these parts..... KWIM???:wink2:
Thank you all so much for your responses. They really help me out.
