permanent or contract?

Hello all,

ok here is my question, all opinions welcomed. If you recently started a contract position would you continue job hunting and what if you got a job offer for a permanent position would you accept the new position or stay in the contract position, keep in mind you have been in the constract position a very short time, so giving 2wks notice would be super awkward.

thanks

What do you mean by "contract" - is it PRN? Or is it like a travel position where you're contractually obligated for a certain number of weeks?

thanks for the response contract meaning position is less than a year no obligations to complete the contract.

Yes, I would keep looking, and no I would not feel guilty if a permanent position was offered to me that I wanted to take. Not in this economic climate.

TAKE THE PERMANENT POSITION! I made the mistaking of staying in a contracted position and letting a permanent go because I didn't feel good saying good bye after a week.

The RN survicing us turn out to be a big witch. The contract ended and didn't renew...and was left with no job.

Take the permanent position!!!! Much better for your mental health and financial position! This is all about you... and your needs. I have been agency / contract for several years.. we ae not treated with respect in a temp position.

Good luck.

I was a traveling nurse for 7 years. You should finish out your contract. If you accept a job they should resepect that you want to keep your commitment. You never now what life is going to throw at you and you may want to go back.
