Peds nurses help!!!!!!

My daughter is 7 and hasn't been feeling well all day. N/v X2 now. Woke up from a nap with a temp of 103.2 gave her 10 ml Tylenol waiting to reassess temp now. My question is at what point do I stop trying to control her temp at home and take her to the doc? I know very little about peds (thank u guys!!!!) But I don't want to be a hasty parent rushing her to the doc for a virus. What is the highest temp u are comfortable with in a child?

I'm sure people want to help but I think it's against the rules here to give medical advice.

I'm sure this thread will close down soon; you post is bordering on asking for medical advice.

Is there a triage line with your doc that you can call to see if they want to see her?

The one thing I can inform you about Peds is in terms of vomiting; the most important thing we look out for is dehydration and replacing fluids and supportive care; a lot of my physicians that I work with (PediED) will not look at you crazy for bringing a child in with that temp...my suggestion is in my initial statement of at least contacting the Doctor and giving additional info to help guide whether they would want to see her-i.e. Sore throat? Ear pain, etc.

Best wishes.

emtpbill is correct. It's against our Terms of Service to provide medical advice. Your daughter's pediatrician is the best person to advise you. LadyFree28 gave you great advice without a TOS breach. Let us know how she is after she sees a doc.

It is so worrisome to have a sick child!

Agree, phone your Pediatrician's nurse advice line or on-call MD for direction for this (they often know what has been "going around" in your area, which is helpful as well).

Per the Terms of Service:

"[h=3]Medical Advice:[/h]ALLNURSES.COM, INC. or it's members do not offer medical advice. Any requests for such will be removed. If you have a medical problem, please seek attention from your healthcare provider. You are not allowed to ask for medical advice related to a health situation that affects you, a family member, or someone you know."

Thank you for your understanding.
