Pca Key

I was asked this weekend to pick up my PCA key! They are handing them out to each nurse rather than locking one in pyxis. I refused initially and am in contact with risk management for advice.

I am wondering, how many of you carry your own PCA key? I was the only one who refused (afraid of liability), my co-workers gladly took the key and placed it on their badge holders. Am I overreacting? :no:

we have 2 pyxis and each have i think 3 keys. we are not required to put it back immediately, but i do just so i dont do anything with it. i woudl walk out with it and take it home, just slipping my mind. i wouldnt want my own key, just cuz you never know who would do what. i trust ppl, but you just never know.

if i was in that situ, & felt like you, i would just ask if i could leave it in pyxis and take it out as needed. they cant tell you no in that reason, your not endangering anything or anyone by doing that. so if they say no, because you are personally uncomfortable, that is dumb on their part.
