PC or Mac for WGU

Hello all,

I am currently in enrollment process for WGU RN to BSN program. For those of you who are currently enrolled or grads from WGU, which laptop do you use? PC or Mac? Are macbooks compatible with browsing through WGU student portal, turning in assignments, watching lectures, proctored exams, etc? I know macbooks don't work with all the softwares out there. I hope to hear any feedbacks. Thanks in advance!

I'm a technological cavewoman who uses a 12-year-old Compaq Presario PC and a six-year-old HP laptop to complete my WGU assignments. I do not use Apple or Mac products, so I wouldn't know if the programs are compatible with WGU's technology requirements.

I use a PC and a chromebook - but I have seen others on the facebook page successfully using macbooks, so I assume they would work fine. I do see that the proctored testing is supposed to support safari now, so I can tentatively say you'd be ok. :)

I use a macbook with no problems.

It has nothing to do with what computer you're using, it depends on the browser, i.e. using Firefox or Chrome vs Safari

This information is correct to a certain extent. My former program mentor specifically mentioned that the WGU portal does not work well with Internet Explorer browsers, and I found this to be true through my personal experiences.

The WGU portal is supposed to work just fine if you use Firefox, Safari or Chrome. My only two browser experiences while accessing WGU's portal have been with Firefox and Internet Explorer, so use my information as you please. :)
