Pay Me!

I'm a brand new RN and have an interview coming up. I am trying to find out how much to ask for regarding salary. I'm posted in central Florida and would like to know what the average is, so I can go to the interview informed. I don't want this to be just for me, so please post about what you make or is average for your area, where you work, and how long you have been working there. Thanks Guys!

If you search using the keyword "salary", you should be able to pull up a handful of salary threads. They usually are general "what is your salary and where are you from?" threads, so you'll have to read through for Florida, but they are a great place to start.

Glassdooor.com has salary info.

As a new grad RN with no experience, you have no bargaining chips on which you can negotiate. The best negotiation tactic would be, "Yes, I will take the job."

Pay in central Florida can be less than $20/hourly in some cities and towns.

Indeed.com can give you a vague sense, but be aware that people often inflate the salaries they report, and that those are AVERAGE, not new grad salaries. Many places I've seen have a matrix from which they assign pay, but this will vary from one facility to the next. Here in CA, I've had new grad salaries range from $20.00/hour to $69.10/hour.
