Pathophysiology for TWU

Published

So who has taken patho (biol 4344) at TWU or who plans on taking it? I wanted to gather as much information about it as I could. Please PM or email me with information about different instructors' teaching styles, those at Denton and Dallas. Pros and Cons?

I was thinking about taking the Fall class.

What is the class structure like? How many tests, etc...

If anyone could give me feedback this would certainly help me make up my mind.

Thanks so much!

I dunno! But I am registered for the Patho class in Denton this Fall. Haven't heard much about the course.

I am registered for patho in Denton. It is all online. I was wondering about it too. Are you generic or is this for RN-BSN?

I'm a generic student. Online would be great but I think I have to be accepted first to the nursing program. Im taking patho early since it was advised to do so. Hopefully begin spring 2010.

Go to http://www.ratemyprofessors.com for information about the instructors.

Sounds like some are pretty hard. I don't mind hard as long as it is reasonable. Someone left a rating today with an easiness rating of 1 with 1 being hardest and 5 being easiest.

I will probably take the one I was leaning towards from the beginning. I like meeting once a week even though it is 8:30 in the morning! I can just take the bus over there like I used to do for my interneship at UTSouthwestern and study on the bus.

So are we allowed to take things at the Dallas campus even if we are not accepted to the upper level school of nursing yet? For some reason I thought all of those courses were for nursing students only.

I think we are as long as it does not say consent required from department.

OK, I specifically asked in the advising office about taking the class at the Dallas campus and he said "not unless you're already in the program". If you want to take it before you're accepted, then you HAVE to take it in Denton. Which I thought sucked because then he told me that at the Dallas Campus they teach it as a nursing course, at the Denton campus it's a biology course (read harder). My A&P I lab instructor said the class is hard, but if it's the only course you're taking (while you're waiting to find out if you've been accepted in the spring) then you should probably do ok. Otherwise, you can wait until you have to take it (a little easier) with 12 other courses as part of the program.

yes, I too am signed up to take it in the fall at TWU.

OK, that should read 12 other HOURS of nursing courses.

yes, I too am signed up to take it in the fall at TWU.

hey! I talked to Katie in Dallas and she said that as long as the class does not say consent required, we can take it. I am signed up for the Dallas campus course for this fall, and it let me enroll, so I don't think there will be any issues. It is still considered a biology class (biol 4344), the prof teaching it is not even a nurse (my friend taking it there told me this) and she made sure to tell the class that she was only a bio teacher. She said so far, so good. but she has only been in it for a week.

I just talkedto the Dallas campus, and I have not been admittedto upper division nursing classes, and am enrolled to take it Spring 2011 in Dallas. It's no problem.
