I plan on taking pathophysiology, microbiology, and statistics in the fall. Is this too much? Or is patho, micro, and sociology more managable? How time consuming is stats? What about taking all four? I don't plan on working.
The other pre-reqs I need are chemistry, communications, and a global perspectives course (?). I figure chemistry would be too much to take with patho and micro. Communications I'm saving for next summer. And I will have to ask what global perspective courses are.
What do you guys think?

Personally for me that would be too much? Maybe because I have a toddler around .. but it can be manageable if you give it 100 focus and work .. it does sound intense .. i would probably take Microbiology with an easier class just because I want to pull out an A in micro ..

Subjective question that cannot be answered. Some cannot handle 3 credits a semester. I have taken 21 in a semester before and made it. It is something you have to decide. Are you willing to give up partying on the weekends? Are you willing to outwork everyone around you? It is totally up to you and the commitment you are willing to make. You have to go into animal mode with the sciences in regards to studying. Good luck.

I have microbiology and statistics this quarter and I think that is enough. Microbiology is very time consuming and took at least 4 hours or more of study a day. The statistics was a little more manageable and did not require as much time. But I struggled with it because I have a hard time with probability, and other concepts covered in statistics. I think if your a good student and have good time management you could possibly do three classes but I definitely would not do four. That is just my opinion.

I took A&P 1 and micro last semester, that was plenty for me, but I have 3 kids. I'm taking stats now and I can't imagine taking it last semester. I would have been in the psych ward, truthfully.
Maybe you guys are right. I figured the work load wouldn't be as comparable to nursing school. But I have no idea.

Personally, I wouldn't. Stats isn't easy. At least not the classes I took. I'd opt for sociology or one of the easier "fluff" electives you need

I've never taken Patho. but Micro and Stats are heavy classes. I'd say 15% of Micro is common knowledge, the other 85% is new material that you will have to sit down, understand and study to remember. As far as Stats, it takes a lot practice and memorization. Definitely not a "get by" course.

I agree with an earlier post by windsurfer, it is VERY SUBJECTIVE. People do not learn the same way. I have a BS in Business and my MBA, I thought Stats was very easy. But that's just my opinion. I had a very good A&P teacher, but it was still a lot of studying. So I took A&P II with an online Psych 210 class. It just depends on your workload, period. The teacher and your study habits are what makes the difference. Some teachers are very helpful, and others are not. If you know what you're getting in to ahead of time, that will help too. See if you can speak to someone who had that same teacher, to at least get a look at how the class is structured and go from there. You will be amazed at what you can handle, when you want something bad enough. I work full time and still manage to make As.
Psych 210 is the class I'm currently taking, Behavioral Statistics. Not only do I have to do math, I also have 2 literary reviews on medical journals and weekly discussions to do.
@WellThatsOod - that sounds like a full plate. But something that I would enjoy as well. I love writing and doing papers. I can do WITHOUT the math part, lol.
