I just wanted to shed some light and ease any nerves for first time nclex RN takers. I graduated may 9th 2013 and scheduled my nclex RN for june 14 2013. I was really nervous going in there, when the woman asked for my index finger to fingerprint I almost blanked hahah I sat down and began my test. It was going well at first and then i reached 75. And when it didnt shut off, I said okay no big deal i just need to prove myself more. Well the questions got harder and harder and then every other question was SATA. It didnt shut off til 265. I walked outta that room 2 1/2 hours later with my face red as a beet. I got in the car and bawled my eyes out, i felt awful! I thought i failed, theres no way i passed. It was the hardest test of my life. The 48 hours after were terrible, i couldnt eat, sleep, or focus on anything. Well i checked the quick results today and guess what? I PASSED AND AM AN OFFICIAL REGISTERED NURSE!!!! It feels amazing!
So dont think because you had all 265 that you're doomed, you're not! Prove yourself to that computer and come out on top!
And as for studying, I didnt take kaplan or any online study class.
I used saunders 5th edition, i did all the questions in the book and about 3000 questions on the cd that came with it.
I also reviewed my labs and briefly looked at the study guide thats listed on other posts on here.
In my opinion if you know your A & P and medical terms, you should be golden!
Thanks to everyone who shared their story, i followed this website closely for weeks! All the posts made me a little less anxious!
And the PVT did work for me, yay!
