:chuckle Here's to that! Do you have children going with you?

Yes, Los Angeles metropolitan medical cnt.

My daughter is coming she is just 21, but my son is in the army air core & lovin it been in for 8 years now, so he will stay here with his girlfriend of 9 years. How about you?

Our daughter is 20 but has another year at uni. She will come & go returning here in term time to complete her degree. She also had a steady boyfriend so may not eventually want to settle down there. We have a son 17 he will come with us. He has some mixed feelings at the moment but that's to be expected I suppose.

My son had just turned 18 he has loved it here, I never see him anymore he almost lives at his friends house. The biggest problem is you are not allowed to drink alcohol here until 21yrs and you know our boys at home it is ok from 18, so it's a bit like moving the goal posts. He did his last year of school here so it helped him to settle and make friends.

Plus the girls just love the accent

I think going in to school will help a lot to make new friends as madwife said they do love the accent. My daughter has a space on my space.com & has met people on the net from near where we are going to live so that has been a help, but she also has cousins the same age to go out with as I mentioned before we have relatives in LA. My daughter is looking forward to a new start & a new life so she is happy to be going, she has a couple of rough teen years behind her  that she (& us) would like to forget:saint: .

My son is planning on coming out to visit whenever he can & he will follow us out for good when & if he ever has enough of the army his girlfriend is all for it so we are hoping they will come out before they plan on having our grandchildren:rotfl:

Thanks for that. My son is 18 in Nov and is working over here (didn't want to go to college etc.) so it's not like he will be mixing with school/college kids there. He will have to look for work once out there. He has been to the states several times on hols so knows a little of what life is like out there.

Ben wasnt too impressed with getting a job so he had to go back to school, but it was good for him. He now has a job and appears to be enjoying it.

Hi english nurse

Thanks, :uhoh3: Yeah we have to be there @ 8.45 our apptmt is @ 9am. The doctor is located in Knightsbridge near to Harrods and the cost is £160 each ( there's 4 of us!) so it's a pretty expensive fortnight!!
