Pace ABSN Fall 2020

Hi!

I wanted to start a thread for those applying to the fall 2020 ABSN program at Pace so we can go through this application process together!

Has anyone on the Waitlist heard anything?

Nope , nothing ?

I created a group on fb for admitted students

Has anyone at this point not heard anything still? The last I heard was in early February about one of my pre-reqs and once the matter was cleared up I was told my application would continue to be in review. I haven't heard anything and I'm starting to get nervous! I haven't been told I've been waitlisted and I received a large mail letter saying thank you for applying to Pace but I am getting antsy. Does this mean I got rejected?

PS the name of the facebook group is Pace ABSN fall 2020. I tried to post a link but wasn't able to in my original comment

I don’t see it

There is hope for people on the waitlist! I was taken off it today and accepted. Excited for everything to come. Keep your head up if you’re still waiting!

anybody debating between pace and mount sinai?

I'm not sure which program I want to attend- each have their pros and cons.

I’m also debating . I haven’t really heard about any Cons for Pace.

Hey! I have been debating between both programs for a very long time.

Mount Sinai:

Pros: lower tuition than Pace, offers Scholarships, clinicals take place at Mount Sinai hospitals, program time length is great. Mount Sinai hospitals have a good reputation.

Cons: the new location in East Harlem is unfavorable and unsafe (if you Google the subway station near the school, you’ll find out a lot), and the commute (for me) is longer. There are some negative reviews on the Mount Sinai forum on this site.

Pace:

Pros: great location, program time length is short, commute (for me) is easier, high NCLEX passing rate, I heard there are great clinical placements.

Cons: high tuition, clinicals taking place in the tri-state area and they choose them for you (however, I hope after this pandemic ends, this changes), does not offer scholarships. Some negative reviews on this forum and past Pace ABSN forums.

There are both positive and negative reviews for both programs on this site. A nursing degree is a nursing degree no matter which program you graduate from, as long as you can pass the NCLEX. You still have the opportunity to hold the same positions as graduates from other colleges. I would suggest to go with what program is safer, faster, easier, and/or cheaper for you! Good luck.
