I am in Semester 1 of my ADN Program.
I need a 80% in order to pass Nursing Fundamentals.
My current grade is a 71.92
I only have one more exam left worth 50% of my overall grade and a final left worth 25% of my grade. Can someone tell me what I would need to make on this next exam and final in order to pass with a 80%????
below are my current exam grades which has given me a 71.92%

I used to tell my students that if they put half the effort into learning their material that they put into calculating their GPAs to the fourth decimal place so they knew how many questions they had to make me eliminate out of the final exam, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
Short answer, OP: You need to do a lot better all around. Next semester will be harder, and next year will be harder than that. Shoot for a 90%, and mean it.
Good luck.

I attached a spreadsheet for you. You can plug numbers in the bolded section to see what kinds of scores you need in order to pass the class. However, unless I missed something, there is 25% of your final grade for which is unaccounted. You will need to figure that piece out.
As always, I agree with GrnTea. You should have been putting together a plan after you received your first exam score. She is correct in that your future courses will become increasingly more difficult. You passed only one of five exams and did so barely. Do you know why nursing schools set passing percentages higher in nursing courses versus other courses? If a student master's 80% of the content in a nursing curriculum, it increases the student's probability of passing NCLEX the first time. I don't remember the statistics, but the likelihood increases exponentially as the student's overall percentage increases.
Passing the classes is the least of your worries if you skate by on an 80.6% average. You need to pass NCLEX to be licensed as an RN. Furthermore, you don't want to be the nurse other nurses shake their heads at because you're unable to connect simple concepts. Would you want a nurse, doctor, respiratory therapist, occupational therapist who is calculating what he/she needs to earn on an exam and final to barely pass the class to care for you? Buckle down and get serious.
Good luck to you.

I just need to be honest with you, the program is going to get harder. And by harder I mean you are going to want to puke (and occasionally do!) because you are going to have to push yourself harder than you ever imagined.
Each term only gets worse. Nursing school is not for the faint. Fundamentals is usually the easiest and you should not be having this much trouble this early on.
But YOU CAN DO IT IF YOU REALLY WANT IT. Rather than focus on the bare minimums you need to score to scrape by, why not focus on getting 100%! You are looking at this the wrong way.
I'm really rather irked at your post because quite frankly it reminds me a lot of myself at your stage in the game, except my scores were higher. You are smarter than you know and need to look at things in a different manner. I hit a big bump in my road early on and my attitude towards school was the majority of the reason. I just don't like to see others possibly going in the same direction.
Remember that all of us here on AN want you to do good and excell, and sometimes you need constructive criticism to help you do just that

Good luck.[/quote'] I can't agree with this enough. Each semester gets progressively harder. Funds is an odd beast because the material is broad compared to other nursing classes. I am in my third semester and have four classes. OB and Peds in 7.5 weeks and Med Surg 2 and Leadership in 7.5 weeks. My first lecture for this term (Med Surg) was this past Monday and my first exam is next Tue which is on the care of an acute Cardiac Patient. The material is vast and the time to learn and understand the material is limited. You need to develop a game plan now or you will truly struggle further down the road.

Have you met with your professor and talked about how to improve your grades? Is it the material or the types of questions?
