The following message came over voicemail on Christmas Day:

Merry Christmas to everyone, and while you're getting ready to tuck into your Christmas dinner and open your presents, please think of Ruth out here, who has to do an admission on a member that was caught in a zipper. Raging infection, BID dressings and IV antibiotics....

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to dress something like this??

This is probably a little late from my end, but I had a patient once with Fournier's gangrene and required extensive grafting and reconstruction. We used a lot of Xeroform gauze the gentleman's member, testicals and peritoneum. He healed quickly and beautifully. Pt and spouse satisfied with outcome. :imbar

Jeez, zippers are the reason i'm glad i don't have a member. :eek

Dress it very, very carefully...

and be sure the dressing... Moves? with the patient.

I hurt just thinking about it.
