How about explaining the self-care requisites in an understandable language?

I need help!!! Can someone help me understand Orem's theory-Developmental Self Care Requisites?

What do you wish to be explained? Her propositions in regards to person and nusing clients or in relation to nursing therapeutics? She maintains that there are eight universal self care requistes. And there are two developmental self-care requistes. And of course the six health deviation self-care requistes. The question cannot be answered in a few sentences.

One of her first requistes is the seeking of appropriate medical treatment after being exposed to things that are known to effect us pathologically. Does the patient ask her nurse for appropriate medication or treatment of their illness or pain?

Another is the awareness of the effects and results of a pathological condition. Is a diabetic patient aware of the impact of his insulin on his blood sugar? Does he know what happens to him when it is too high or too low?

A third is the ability to carry out prescribed diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitative measures to prevent or manage his pathology. Does a diabetic patient know, accept to monitor his diet to fall within the correct parameters, in order to prevent complications?
