Ontario BScN Accelerated Program Fall 2022

When you’re wait listed somewhere, what does it show on your portal? Accepted or pending? 

Anyone know if UofT is done sending out offers?

When all offers have been sent out and there's no more spaces, they'll send out an email about whether you have been rejected or wait-listed. That's pretty much when we'll know that they're all done

Got rejected from Mac this morning for not presenting all of their mandatory courses as my statistics course wasn’t equivalent to theirs but it was equivalent to westerns. I was sad because it’s my first choice and I’m not sure if I wanna go to Western. IDK if I should take a year off and reapply after taking that stats course or just go to western. I really don’t know much about their nursing program, if someone could provide any insight I would greatly appreciate it!

I say this in the most sincere way possible but this isn't worth it for a nursing degree. Why would you waste a whole year bc you didn't get into Mac nursing over a course requirement? Go to Western and finish your accelerated degree. You can work anywhere in Ontario with a BScN.

Yes- workplaces are much more concerned with whether or not you passed your NCLEX rather than what school you went to. Unless you have some huge hesitation with accepting Western, I would take it! Besides, even if you take stats, no guarantee Mac accepts you next year. 

What are your concerns with Western vs Mac? Or Western in general?? Western is a 19-month compressed program and you have clinical placement in your 3rd, 4th and 5th semesters. I know a lot of Western programs use case-based approach to learning. Nursing doesn't explicitly say they use this but its a big thing for many Western programs so I wouldn't be surprised if it crept its way in. London also has a lot of world class teaching hospitals you'll be completing clinical placements at. The nursing website does a great job of breaking down the program further and if you have any specific questions I would encourage you to email them!! They've been super approachable from my experience!

tbh it's not even worth it for any degree even med bc you honestly should take whatever opportunity comes, we are not guaranteed anything. Also McMaster's PBL styling of learning is hit or miss with its students some love it and some absolutely despise it.

I'm currentyl waitlisted for Western, Nipissing, and Humber. For those who recevied acceptances after June 1st, how long do you have to accept those offers? I'm just wondering when more offers might go out, but I feel like spots remaining is probably slim right now.
