Only a few weeks left as a tech....

I got my letter today offering me a graduate nurse position in the OR where I currently work as a tech. Even though I work there already, I am still very excited! I have come to the conclusion that I love the OR even though I have my cranky days like anyone else:lol2: The only thing that worries me is the transition from tech to nurse- the politics of it. Most people I work with are supportive but there are always a couple of grumps in any hospital..Also, the broadened scope of responsibility is a little daunting. How long did it take the circulators out there to truly feel confident? I will also miss my friends on the evening shift..:o (we orient only on days)

Congrats! Good luck to you!

Congratulations!! I went from a LVN/Scrub to RN/Circ. last year. It took me about 6 months before I started feeling comfortable. I'm a perfectionist and am generally harder on myself than anyone else would be. So, it may not take you nearly as long!
