Online vs. In class?

I am a little confused. You're living in a dorm now - taking pre-requisites at a school that does not have a nursing program? You're going to be taking online courses (from a different school) in the Fall but want to continue to live in the dorm? Sorry - maybe I haven't had enough coffee, but I don't understand why you would want to continue to pay for a dorm if you don't have to?

Side note: Make sure that those online courses will be acceptable to the program(s) you're interested in. Many of them do not accept online lab courses.

Like HouTx said, if you are paying to live in the dorms without scholarships or grants moving back home wouldn't be a bad idea. Statistics is an easy online class so consider taking it online. Do you have a community college at home you can take your biology classes at that will transfer to a university that offers a BSN? If so, I would go that route.

I would personally not take any of those classes online. My school doesn't accept any lab science classes in online form, and I have taken Statistics online. HUGE mistake. I found a lot of the concepts very difficult to understand, and would have really benefited from in-class time with a professor explaining the content to me. I did pass with an A-, but it required more work on my part than any class I have ever taken.

I started out at a four year university, but I couldn't pass the a&p course there and they only have one professor to teach it so I thought it'd be wise to take that course and my 2 other prerequisite courses at a 2 year school back at home for the fall instead of at my same school. I saw that they offered all my needed prerequisite courses online and my mom thought it'd be smart to just stay home for the fall semester and move back on a campus for the spring when I was ready to apply for a spring nursing program. I simply didn't want to stay home for the fall, but I didn't think to check to see of those online courses would transfer back. So thank you for bringing that to my attention. I will check and I will also look for a back up plan and see who offers those courses on a campus.

If you could not pass the A&P course at your college (live, in person) I honestly don't hold out much expectation of doing well online for this course. Online labs, IF they are genuinely good, are not easy. And if not good, well....oftentimes not even accepted as a course by a transferring school.
