Lone Star College @ Kingwood...aka Kingwood College just started an online RN program for those who are LVN, EMT and Bachelor degree holders. San Jacinto also has an online program but only admits in the Fall of even numbered years. Not too sure about Houston Community College.

You are very wise to be thinking about the clinical setting for an online program. Some programs require, you (the student) to make your own arrangements for clinical practicum. THIS Is NUTS!!! You may end up paying a lot of money with nothing to show for it because you can't complete the clinicals.

Unless you are working at a hospital, and they are willing to work with you, you will have a very difficult time trying to arrange a practicum. If you are with a hospital, talk to your education department to see what can be arranged.

Can't speak for the other programs but @ Kingwood, you go to clinical one day a week from 6:30-4:30. Clinical days are Tues, Thurs, Fri, or Sat where you will be supervised by a nursing instructor from the school.

Alvin CC has a great RN-LVN program. The nursing program also ranks among the best in pass rate.
