Online Micro

Ok. I know this type of question has been posted her many times but everytime I try to read one of threads I get lost :(. SO.....here it is

1. Is there any online microbiology classes that have limited or now proctored exams? I just want a class that I can come home to and take my test, eat dinner, then go to bed.

2. If there any micro classes that have online labs?

3. Are any of these course in texas?

Thanks

I took micro through ccconline.org

The labs and tests are all done at home. You have to buy a lab kit, but it was so worth it. It is in CO however, not TX.

If the test and labs are done in the home then the location is not a issue. Could you please tell me what was in the lab kit. Was it a microscope agar dishes? How was the layout and what did you think of the class?

The lab kit contained slides, dishes, stains, cultures to grow, growing media and lab manual for 13 experiments such as Differential staining, Methyl Red Voges -Proskauer Test, Carb fermentation testing, antibiotic sensitivity, etc. You definitely need the kit.

Personally, I loved the class! It was my favorite one and if I remember right I got something like a 94 or 96%. There is a 5 page (1700 word) research paper but once I had my sources, I was able to write it up in a day and got 100%. I love the online format and have taken all my pre-reqs this way. If you can work well on your own, stay on track and stay organized, you shouldn't have a problem.

BTW - I took it concurrently with AP2 and General Psych during a 10 week summer term.
