I am looking for people who have actually completed an online LPN to RN program and have successfully gained employment. I live in Washington state and the schooling for LPN to RN is very limited in respect to fitting in my schedule. I am looking into an online program that keeps me home with my daughter and still able to work full time. Will I be able to pass the NCLEX...will it be "acceptable education" when beginning to transition to an RN position......I want to get started yesterday but my skepticism has kept me from signing up........I am at this point particularly interested in the College Network as I do not need to go away for clinicals or clinical evals....I have a great base of support at work for fielding questions and getting experience....just need the road for the piece of paper and getting past the NCLEX
Thanks! Kara

try going over to the distance learning thread and you should find a large amount of information there.
also be sure and check out your state board of nursing web site for what your state does and does not accept.

I'm not sure if they offer it, & I know they advertise here, but I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND university of phoenix. I'd ask someone in HR if they know about anything local the hospital supports b/c you may have a shot at reimbursed tuition. I had an instructor that had a bach & masters degree from uop, and she was....how should I put this....not very smart. I'm not catogrizing everyone, but so far I'm not impressed. And I don't like the Cardinals.

What ever you do, do not enroll college Network, waste of money and time. Unless you are a good test taker and very good in reading by yourself without any help or lecture. Also you have to pay for every test through them and they give you two tries only. Then you have repeat and wait 6 months to retake. I tried, and failed. So I am enrolled here In california West Coast University. I do not know of any schools in your area, try University of Phoenix, unless you want to move to california for about 1 1/2 yr to finsh. Good luck to you, I just wanted to warn you about College Network Program

Excelsior is the only LPN to RN program I know of. Indiana does LPN to RN but with a BSN.
