Online CNS programs

I forgot to say that the speciality I want is Adult Health.

You might try Winona State University: they have both tracks (CNS and NP) or Ball State University. If neither of these fit your family needs; you can email me and I will try to help you find the right program.

It took me three years to find the right MSN program and post masters program; but, it was worth it for the flexibility.

I live in North Texas (Dallas area) and would like to obtain an MSN, and looks like the CNS program is the way to go. :wink2: I am currently checking into TWU's program. www.twu.edu . I am an alumni of TWU, and I believe most of their courses are online.

Liberty University Online has a CNS program that is entirely online. Good luck!

Texas Christian University was all online. I didn't have to go to campus, but I did once just to meet the instructors. Excellent school.

University of Central Florida has an online CNS program. http://www.ucf.edu

Rush University in Chicago has an all online program also.

You might look at Western Governors University. www.WGU.edu It's competancy based and totally online. I'm in my first term and they offer 2 specialties in the MSN program. 1) Education track 2) Leadership and management. It is fully accredited (or else I would not be taking it). Anybody have first hand experience in going through an online program in a different state ??...makes me a little nervous. Something I should consider?

I would really like to get into a cns program soon, although I live in Tampa and the only cns programs within driving distance are @ Florida Southern College and UCF...anybody with any information about these two programs would be amazing !!! Thanks !!

I have searched the other threads and I know that this is somewhat repeative so I apologize.

I am graduating with my BSN from Kean University in 2 weeks. YEAH!!!! :yeah:Now that's done I am interested in pursuing my MSN with a CNS track rather than NP track because from the research I've done in NJ CNS and NP both come under APN but the CNS will give me more options with my career. After going to school and working night shift for 3 years I only want to do online classes because trying to adjust my work and/or sleep schedule around school was EXTREMELY difficult. I know that I will have to do clinicals but at least that I will be able to

have more flexibility in scheduling with my preceptor/mentor.

Reading the other posts I have several programs but many that are mentioned are the brick and mortar schools, require a few visits per semester to the campus (which I can't do because I cannot afford to take the time off of work or the airfare/hotel costs that will be required), or are NP tracks.

So after all that my question is does anyone know of a CNS program (again not NP) in which the didactic portion is ALL online? Thanks.

Greetings! I did a TON of research on online grad schools before I finally started (I am entering my last year of school...I hope). My first choice was University of South Alabama (USA). Eventhough I was looking at online programs (programs that would NOT require me going to campus), I still felt as though closer was better, so I chose an online program in my "home" state. The program was OK, but lo & behold, I have found myself at USA. I am really liking it. It has a good variety of programs from which to choose, including 3 CNS tracks (adult/geri, peds, women's health). It also seems pretty well established. I cannot recall when the online program started, but it seems they have been doing it for a while. I think programs that have been around for a while are generally able to "work out the bugs." Also, there was an instructor there who really did a good amount of correspondence with me (she didn't have to do that). She then connected me with a couple of people who were getting ready to graduate, so that I could ask them questions & get their impressions of the program --very cool, plus I am still occasionally in touch with them!

OK, that was a huge advertisement for USA! I think they should give me a semester free of cost!

I've been doing a bit of research on Univ of South Alabama...looks pretty good to me...what track are you doing and how many semesters is the program?? And also, are you working full-time while doing the program? Just trying to pick your brain a lil !! sry for all the ques !! Thanks in advance !
