Are there any on-line BSN or ADN programs for those with no previous nursing experience? Due to where I live, Chamberlain is not an option. I would like to be able to do the clinicals in my area without traveling to another state.

If I understand correctly, Excelsior doesn't require "nursing" experience, per se. I don't really know what their requirements are, though.

excelsior requires clinical skills. you either have to be a lvn, paramedic, rt or have completed at least 50% of a nursing program ( there are others but this is the main requirments) . so no you dont have to have "nursing " experience but you do have to have quite a bit of clinical time. now to the op, what state do you live in? cause if you live in texas you can check out e-line through delmar. they have a online associates and there is also a bsn option. but you still have to complete clinicals and you may have to travel to south tx.

Thanks to the both of you for responding to my post. I do live in Texas and was wondering if you knew someone who is attending that program or have attended it in the past.

Could you give me information on TAMU-CC. I can not pm. How did you feel about the program? Where in DFW are the clinicals and how long did it take you. I am a very strong distance learner. If you had any issues was it because of the school or was it just not your learning style? Last question... is it possible to finish the program in 18 months? FYI- I completed 57 hours in the last 12 months. Any other helpful wisdom?

I know this search is a few years old, but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway............
Am I able to attend the BSN program through ELINE if I'm already a LVN? Were there any nurses in your class? I don't see anything about it on the website, but I wasn't sure if maybe they had a transition program, or if you could opt out of classes if you already had experience.
Thanks!

i just recently learned of an online bsn program through ut arlington. i don't know all the details and how it works, but i did read a little bit about it on their website. of course, i do think you have to do clinical at some point, but maybe it is more flexible.
looks like a cool option if you are in the dfw area.
