I'm taking four classes over the summer. The texts books are very costly. I decided to check out Amazon.com for better prices. I was given the option to rent the books for two months (I only need them for a month). The rental fees are substantially affordable. I've never rented a book via online (local libaray only). Has anyone rented books from Amazon or any other online source? If so, how was your experience?
I've made purchases through Amazon. I'm not skeptical at all about the actual site. I'm simply inquiring about their rental policies. Did they continue to charge your credit card after the first initial payment?

I've rented for myself and my two college kids through both Amazon and Chegg. Good experience both times- I will rent again in August when the youngest returns to school.

I rented from Amazon and it is the best experience and customer service. My book alays came on time and since I am a college student I get the free 2-day shipping for only about $30 a year which I love. But word of advance, do not order from Abebooks. Their book pricing is really cheap but the customer service is very poor and they are very disorganized where they lost my book twice and then shipped it to the wrong a dress on the the 3rd reship attempt.
Chegg also buys textbooks - they pay postage, give you a decent amount of $$ too.

I've rented every book I could from Amazon. Best experience ever. It's shipped quickly (get yourself a Prime Student membership if you don't already) and when you're done just print out the return label and send it back for free. You'll save a ton of money.

I rented from Amazon for Chemistry and intro Biology. Both times I had good experiences, and the books were in good shape when they arrived.

I've purchased/rented books and eBooks from Amazon. I did homework on a two screens (eBook on one screen and homework on the other screen). It was very efficient!!! Also, the "search" functions on the eBooks will save you a lot of time. I used it for History and searched names; everything related to that name would pop-up and be highlighted. Made my essay writing so much easier!
