Hi there, I'm currently applying to the OKCCC nursing program and I was just wondering if anyone who is or has been in this program knows if they let you double up on your nursing semesters. I know it's supposed to be a two year program but the times that they have the classes makes it look like you can take for example, nursing 3 and nursing 4 at the same time. If anyone knows anything about this please let me know. I have finished almost all of my classes that I need for the program and I would like to finish up as soon as I can. Thanks for any help I can get!

I seriously doubt it, I don't know any nursing programs that let you do that. You could always just call up there and ask that way you know for sure.
OSU-OKC is an excellent ADN program as well (I have heard sooo many good things about their program from other nursing instructors, etc) so keep them in mind if OCCC doesn't work out.
I am in the process of applying as well. I applied at UCO (where I am at now) and OU but if I don't get in there I will be applying at OSU-OKC.
Good luck!

No, they do not let you do that.
And trust me.... you would not be able to do that. You will be busy seven days a week.
Thank you so much for the help!

I AM A 4TH SEMESTER NURSING STUDENT AT OKCCC. yOU ARE NOT ABLE TO TAKE THE NEXT SEMESTER UNTIL YOU PASS THE ONE BEFORE IT. IT IS LIKE EACH SEMESTER HAVING PREREQ. i WISH YOU COULD SHORTEN THE YEARS BUT MOST PEOLPE DON'T SURVIVE DOING IT IN TWO. IT'S VERY DIFFICULT! EVEN FOR ME AND I HAVE BEEN AN LPN FOR 6 YRS.:) Good Luck!

were you not able to do a LPN-RN bridge or did you have to do the full program?
At the time i applied for nursing school they had a 5 year rule. This is where if you have been a nurse for over 5 years you had to take the whole course. You could test out through test from new york and the collage but you had to pay for the test and the amount of the test was more than i was willing to pay. They also would not tell you a score just pass or fail. nothing about what questions you miss or got wright. So i chose the long route. A year after i was in the program they changed the rule. Yah! It sucked!
BUMMER! I'm going to finish my LPN in the spring and then I will be able to complete the RN at TCC in 2 semesters if I can CLEP 3 classes - it's 3 semesters if you don't do the CLEP (I will be clepping - around $200 per test).
GOOd luck You will do great!
