Oig

I lost my RN license in 2014 in California for substance abuse. I just got my nursing license back. I'm on Oig exclusion list and medi -cal exclusion list. I heard it can take several months to a year to get off exclusion lists. I'm on probation now. What RN jobs can I get without it funded by Medicare, Medicaid or medi-cal? Thanks!

Aesthetic nursing, maybe? Every other service is eventually going to have a poor person that needs it.

IT does not take that long to be removed from the OIG exclusion list. I submitted my application and was off within 4 weeks. I am not sure about California. You will need to check with them, but, I am attaching the link for the OIG.

Follow their directions. You do have to write to them and request the application for removal.

Good luck to you! Trust me, it was not that difficult. Keep in mind they only update their database one time per month.

What are you on there for if you don't mind me asking? Also what kind of job did you get?

I haven’t found a job yet. I was required to sit out for one year by the board and that time is almost up. I’m probably crazy for trying to reinstate my license while on OIG but I have to try.

@nurselori22 you aren't crazy! If you are only on OIG for the losing the license you can asked to be taken off as soon as they reinstate you. And if not once you get your license I know plasma centers are REALLY monitoring friendly and don't accept any insurance.

That wasn’t the only reason ? I got 3 years of treatment in lieu of conviction for my diversion. I have successfully completed that. Now I’m applying to have that expunged from my record.
