OIG Help

Hello, I am new to this site and am soooo glad it's available. I just got my RN license reinstated a couple of months ago and got a job and everything. I was super excited, until I met with the nursing board a couple of weeks ago. They informed me I am on the OIG exclusion list. I have never heard of this before and it never came up during the two years I have been working on getting my license reinstated.

I just received the application to be removed from the exclusion list and have been working on it all day. I am just waiting on some character references and a statement from the court. I did receive a pre-trial diversion and got a couple misdemeanor charges since I was placed on the exclusion list in 2010. I hope this doesn't keep me from being removed and I hope I submit all the needed information to the OIG.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

    I don't know. I hate to say one way or another. Remember that the Office of Inspector General is a bureaucratic agency, and whether you are removed from the Exclusion list will depend on them. It depends on how long you were excluded, what happened, and other questions they ask on the paperwork.

    In other words, I can't say. You.need to write them and ask for the paperwork to get the process startef.

    You can be placed in the NPDB for many reasons other than diversion, crimes, etc. Many providers are in the NPDB but are not on the OIG exclusion list

    No. Im on that Oig I just dont understand yet were we can and can not work. I dont get paid directly by medicaid or medicare and I know we get funds from the state not federal idk. We are subcontracted thru the Division of Devolpmental Disabilities.

    Jnorth, I know it has been almost a year since you posted that you got off the OIG list but if you see this can you tell me how long it took from the time you sent in your paperwork? I have been on the list since 2012 for suspension of nursing license . I failed to complete IPN in Florida. Never wanted to be a nurse again after all I went through. I recently went back to school for medical coding but since I am on the list I cannot work until I am off the list. Through many emails with OIG I was told today that their regulations have changed and I can submit paperwork now. I have requested the packet. Did you hire an attorney to help you?

    I got myself off the list without an attorney. Follow the instructions to the letter and answer them honestly.

    I don't have an attorney. My nursing license will be reinstated this month. I will be on probation for 2 years. So, On the OIG application, question #5 ask Are you subject to any sanctions or conditions imposed by any other Federal or State agency other than your exclusion? other than my license being on probation for 2 years, should I answer yes or no to that question?
