NYU Spring 2008

I'm starting clinicals in the spring of 2008 at NYU. Is anyone else applying to NYU or going to start clinicals in the spring? I'm taking the prereqs right now at nyu, so feel free to ask my any questions. You can PM me

Thanks! Hope to see some of you in class next term.

Thanks for your post---i just got accepted to NYU's nursing and I had a couple of questions about pre-reqs....NYU only requires 3 credits of A&P correct? Do you know if A&P can be taken at the same time as microbiology? And are there any nursing courses you can take will completing the pre-reqs? I am a second degree student.

thanks!

NYU's AP is 3 credits. And yeah, u can potentially take all the prereqs at teh same time. I'm pretty sure you can take Nursing Research the same time as the prereqs.

That would be such a load off if i could actually take A&P and Microbio at the same time, I am taking courses at Hunter now, and it really is taking a long time....how far are you into the program? If I can't get a loan I am hoping they will let me defer my enrollment til spring so that I can figure out a plan!

Well AP is only one term at NYU. I'm starting my second term of acutal nursing courses tomorrow. AFAIK, they don't allow deferment.... but good luck.

Oh wow, i can't believe they don't offer deferment!!! well, i might have to just jump in and do it now, i really don't want to have to go thru another application, etc....ugh. I will be paying more to take the pre-reqs, but it will be faster than finishing them at cuny. Are you going full or part time? thanks for help!

You're welcome. I'm full time. It would take forever if you try to do it part time!!!!!!

Do you have any peers who also go full-time and hold part-time jobs??? I know its probably impossible, but just trying to research a little!

Thanks!

Any current NYU Nursing Students have advice on where the best or worst clinical sites/preceptors are? I start NYU's 15 month program in Fall 08 and would love some advice!

Thanks!

Dear Jenthehen

what would happen to you if you are a hepatitis b carrier? does NYU require a blood test for hepatitis B in order to be placed in clinical sites?

Hi,

I just got accepted into NYU nursing, I have a question about the physical exam. Does NYU require a physical exam such as blood test to test hepatitis b before start the clinical?

what would happen to a student if she is a hepatitis b carrier?
