I thought Domicile was done in the MEC office before the applicants files go upstairs? I’m so confused. Nursing Dept told me they don’t do them?

that's correct. the office of the campus registrar does that. Once that part is done nursing gets the finalized list for consideration.

Ok thank you so much for clarification.

One week left until we might start to hear back! Has anyone started reviewing any nursing material in preparation?

I've been watching youtube videos on first semester nursing. I found picnomonics to help remembering medicines. I also binge watch different ways to study. I even purchased Steadler color pens and pinterest searched for concept mapping note taking. I pray I get in because Im so ready!

Yes!!! I thought I was the only one lol I’ve been watching similar videos, how to study, medical terminology etc. lol! Do you still have to take microbiology? I’m thinking about taking it in the Spring (our first semester) but idk if it’ll be too overwhelming.

No I already took micro but I will be reviewing my book. I NEVER sell my science books lol. I plan on peeking at quizlet too for micro. In micro everything is pretty much searching for evidence based material and that seems to coincide with nursing research in general. Micro is HARD but you can do it. I survived with a B. I really love researching things in general so I enjoyed looking up different bacterium. I had to write a paper in micro and that was a huge part of the grade. My professor gave us a choice of which bacteria to research. I chose an enteric one (E.coli) You actually swab and grow things. Pretty disgusting which is my I make my kids wash their hands non stop and clean remotes daily, lol. I suggest getting a planner( I love Happy Planner) and mark it up with due dates for everything. Just learn to pace yourself. I took Med term online at NOVA and got an A but it wasnt easy. I took the 8 week course with basically had 6 text and quiz combos weekly. ( thought about going for HIM when I got rejected from nursing in the past. )

I would still take micro in the spring so you can have a break in the summer.

I can’t bring myself to start preparing because I’m afraid I’ll jinx myself!! ? If I get in, I’ll immediately start devouring every bit of information I can though.

Thanks! Yeah, I wasn’t really sure what microbio entailed so that actually really helps! I’m think leaning toward taking the online option in the Spring so I can meet the deadline to apply for GMU’s co-enrollment BSN program for the Fall, as long as all goes well! Lol fingers crossed! I’m already looking forward to Summer break ?

I've been watching videos too and trying to find out information from previous NVCC students! I'm so nervous that I won't get in that the anxiety is killing me! Does anyone know what the uniforms look like? Or if we will be allowed to bring out own stethoscopes? Anyone down to make a study group and a Facebook page too once we find out?

Sure Im down for the facebook add once we get in( YES Im speaking it into existence lol). I know from being on campus that I see the nursing students wearing green pants and white jackets. I dont know about the stethoscopes but Im thinking everything must be purchased from the same vendor. I rather save my money for a special stethoscope for pinning ceremony.
