why? is TEAS still waived?

Please reach out to [email protected] for confirmation as to the status of the ATI TEAS exam.

Hello,

When do acceptance letters normally go out? I think there has been some mixed time frames given. And lastly, how many people applied to the program this application cycle and how many will be moved forward for ranking?

Thank you

I sent my transcript in to be evaluated for Fall 2020. However, I got the message saying they could not find it. I got a confirmation from GMU saying the transcript was sent in. I tried to contact apply mec and called the virtual lobby to explain the situation and ask if I could still be evaluated fairly for the Fall 2020 program, but I was told that because they could not find my transcript I would not be evaluated and that it was too late now to send it in again and try. I'm not sure what to do, I sent my transcript in on time and had got the confirmation from GMU that it was downloaded by NVCC on April 8. However, NVCC is telling me that they they cannot find it and that it's too late to send another one in. I don't know what to do anymore ? I submitted my application and transcripts in on March 31 ?

Traditionally acceptances are done between Mid May and the First week of June.

If you submitted your transcripts on March 31, it would already be considered too late. It takes time to process transcripts and credits posted to your account. The College Records Office has to download your file, link it to your record and evaluate it. The application page states 4- 8 weeks to process applications. If you sent it in that close to the deadline we normally tell students that they will probably be rejected if they had been planning on using credit from the transcript they submitted close to the deadline.

Hi,

So I’ve been in touch with a JMU counselor for their RN-BSN co-enrollment program. I have to show my acceptance letter by May 20th. Otherwise, I will not be able eligible for the program. Do you believe we’ll know by then?

Last year I got my acceptance letter 5/15, but our application window was not extended and it wasn’t mid-pandemic. I would strongly suggest not starting Co-enrollment until the Spring semester unless you absolutely have to. First semester is so busy and so hard! Lots of moving parts, lots of information to process and hands on time. Second semester is much more chill, and this fall is still going to be up in the air how they proceed. They told us they have several contingency plans in case we get further waves of shut down.

I’m trying to do it because of my GI Bill. I need to be a full time student and I’ve already completed all my co-requisites. I appreciate the advice though! I guess I’ll play it by ear. Thank you!

Has the ranking process changed in consideration of those who have already taken the TEAS and those who did not due to the COVID-19 impact? I am wondering if people who have taken the TEAS will be ranked higher. TIA

I was told that they are not considering the TEAS. It can’t help you or hurt you. Their reasoning is because the testing center shut down two weeks before the original nursing deadline so it’s not fair.
