NVCC applying for Fall of 2014. Class of 2016

Hey guys,

I started this thread in hopes of connecting with people who applied for the Traditional Nursing program at NVCC. I have been corresponding with them via e-mail and am anxiously awaiting an acceptance letter. Hope everyone else submitted their applications without issue! Maybe we can cheer each other on :)

Hope to hear form you all with questions, concerns and comments!

Alison

Are you looking under the student connect tab on blackboard? Once you click student connect it'll be there :)

Ohhhhhhhhh.... I'm so dumb  Thank you haha

Rnc510: how was the MEC orientation?!?

PreetM: thank you! I ended up calling the customer service number. When I logged on I couldn't see the $1M/$6M, but an email from them went to my junk mail. Once I opened it I saw a certificate that said it was set at $1M/6M...glad I got that sorted out.

I know we can't order our textbooks just yet, but is purchasing our textbooks different from purchasing the textbook bundle with the software? I'm confused. Not sure if I should buy the textbooks before the 22nd orientation and the software bundle later?

You're welcome :) glad things worked out! Aren't both the textbooks and the textbook bundle the same? I mean we do have the list of books now so maybe you can go into the bookstore and see?

Has anyone done the HIPPA test? I'm on the website we need to go on however I can't find the article "Protecting the Privacy of Patients' Health Information" that we have to read. Has anyone done it yet?

I also could not find the article so I took the risk of just taking the test. There are about 10 questions and they are common sense. If you know what HIPPA is all about than you should be able to answer the questions. I got 100% on my first try. You also have multiple attempts if you don't get it the first time.

Nurse2be35: Orientation was long. They ran about 35 over the scheduled time. At about 840 the room was full. You sign-in on the first floor and they will give you a folder with lots of info regarding the campus. It was good overall. Just get there on time.

rnc15: Thank you! I'll just go ahead and take it then!

Hi Everyone, first let me congratulate you all on getting accepted!!!!

I just graduated from the program and took my NCLEX on Tuesday and passed!! I wanted to write because I remember how overwhelming everything was at the beginning with checklists, immunization trackers, books and lots of money spent!!!

NVCC nursing is a great program, it is hard but when you reach the end it will be worth it, the people in your class will become your best friends because only they will understand what you are going through, my best advice is keep up with your reading and homework and study study study!! Enjoy your families and do what you love for the next couple of weeks because once you start the program it will be your life for the next 16 weeks....if anyone has any questions at all let me know and I will try to help as best I can...again congratulations on getting accepted it will be worth it all in the end!!! :nurse::yes:

You guys get the email about the Certified Profile code? Is that the code you used? That's not the code I had.

I just saw that! Do you think it's a typo? I used NV17 as stated. Is your Certified Profile under the 2013 deadline though?

Yep I used NV17 and it's still under the 2013 cohort.

I don't see how it could be a typo. Maybe the C and the V being next to each other on the keyboard, but 7 & 3 are nowhere near each other.

Yeah no I see the C and V but def not the 7 and 3...I emailed Ms. Brown regarding why it states 2013 instead of 2014 and even sent her a print screen shot last Friday however she never responded so I'm thinking I'll probably bring it up July 22nd. I mean seems like everyone is under 2013 so it's on their end. I even called Certified Profile and they told me it was the schools fault because they didn't update the package...should someone re-email Ms. Brown regarding this or just leave it till the 22nd?
