Nursing terms

After reading the thread about disgusting stuff that happens to us (thanks by the way LOL) It reminded me of the terms we use to bring levity to otherwise hideous situations.

My favourite at the moment?

Lung custard = phlegm

Anybody got any others?

we refer to boogies as "yum-yums" from an alzhiemers pt.

:p

my favourite at the moment is:code brown - a warnng to other staff that we are dealing with a large smelly revolting bed full of poo!!:roll

mandy

LOL code brown will use that one @ work in the dementia unit!lol

We used to say a very sick pt. that died in ER jpfrogged meaning just plain f###ing ran out of gas.

Pappy

When I worked the Er we wrote on the board for self inflicted trauma: TFSTL (Too F**king Stoooopid To Live)

was not very politically correct but after awhile it is soooo true

Dave

An old one: PFBUNDY ( pretty f***ed, but unfortunately, not dead yet.)

CTD (circling the drain)

We have a private room for the dying patient which we refer to as " The departure suite "

A joint Military and Medical one I`ve heard is similar to erdiane`s... FUBAR.... f***** up beyond all relief
