Hello and welcome to the wonderful family of allnurses.com. Enjoy your stay, and best of luck to you. :)

What about getting in with mature student status....depending on how old you are. Good luck in your studies.

My "Dogwood" was my Grade 12 matriculation papers. But back in my days we only had letter grades on it with a percentile range printed on the back.

Isn't a GED the equivalent to Gr.12 graduation?

How long ago did you graduate?

Mature Student status depends on the institution you are applying to for admission and what other education you have. I know someone who is 40, with a load of old college credits who found out he wasn't a mature student but a "faculty transfer" at one college, turns out if he had no credits he would have gotten into the programme he wanted but with his credits the GPA wasn't high enough?!!?

Where I'm applying in 2006 (ontario - RN) you need a high school diploma or equivalent (whatever that means) or mature student status....HOWEVER, even with one of these three you need 6 OAC (Ontario Academic Courses-A.K.A. Grade 12 University Prep courses) Three of those have to include English U, Biology U and Chemistry U and then 3 others of your choice.

Everywhere is different. Your best bet is to get your transcripts checked out by a counsellor...they may be able to give you maturity credits and then you just have the pre-requisites to do.

HTH, ~L.
