It sure is a whole lot of work! I'm half way through my first semester and so far as long as I stay on top of my readings and pay attention in class I manage to do well on my exams. The issue is that everytime I blink there's a test or a ton of homework. I also work 40 hrs so this is taking it's toll on me. I commend anyone who manages to go to nursing school, work and take care of a family. I don't even have time to clean the house so I can't imagine if I had kids to look after how it would be. anyone who thinks nursing is hard please don't be discouraged, it really isn't. It's all about time management.

I would not say it isn't hard. It is an entire new way of thinking-critical thinking-it doesn't come naturally to everyone. I have 4 kids and am going back to school as an adult to do this, I have taken many years prepping and now in the program and I would never say it isn't hard, so there I have to digress. I commend anyone of any age who does it, I have seen many of my classmates fail out, drop out or wash out, and they were all good, smart people, it just isn't for everyone and not everyone makes it.
Good luck to you, I am very happy for you that this program is easy for you, for me it is not. I am passing with decent grades and have one more semester to go, but it is in no way shape or form easy for me!
Good luck with the rest of your schooling, though it sounds like yo don't need it :)

Oh don't get me wrong I'm not saying it is Naturally easy for me cause it's not. I have to study and take notes but honestly Chemistry and Biology were way harder because no matter how hard I studied I still was confused at times. I think what gives folks an advantage in nursing school is life experiences. As you mature and experience certain situations in life you learn from them. You have kids so you probably apply critical thinking in your everyday life and not realize it. My point of this thread is just to say to folks who are nervous and scared that they need not be. As long as you stay on top of your readings and assignments then you should be ok. If not then it will be extremely hard to keep up.

The very beginning of nursing school was tough for me but since then, it has been pretty easy. Sure, we have a lot of reading and a ton of busy work, but it isn't hard. I just read the chapters and take the tests. It works for me. Some of my classmates agree with me and some of them think its been ball busting throughout. Everyone is different but I think most of us can agree that it IS a LOT of work!
