Nursing school and finances...

Published

HI, I really want to do an ABSN in the State, but as I peddle along with my nursing prerequisites I think about going the community college route. I am.just concerned about finances.

Trying to clear up my debt I accrued few years back when I was on the unemployment line, $6500. Also currently renting a room for $300 a month, but looking to rent a $1000 to $1200 room with my fiancée. Fiancée is almost an LPN said she plans to go through an online program once she graduates, probably be done right around the time I start nursing school in 2018.

Question is I can't afford to go below 24 hour's at my job. I am not sure what I am eligible for financial aid, took out only $10,000 paid it back for my previous bachelor's degree. However, looked into private student loans and been denied so far.

The tuition reimbursement from work covers mostly the cost of books and some misc. fees through out the year.

Curious how everyone paid from college? Big stessor.

Work full-time and go to school, students and single mothers do it all the time. Pull yourself by your bootstraps and get to work. I'm almost about to start nursing school working taking care of my whole family including by 20 month year old nephew like my own son. I have no children. I'm in my 20's. If I can do it anyone can.Plus I'm a girl. Grow up. Plus I'm planning to send him to private school that is $6,000 a year plus additional activities.
