I have all my nursing textbooks on my computer, phone and tablet since my school went all electronic. I have my phone in my pocket and take it out to look up the info I need in my books. I use pageburst software, and the app on my phone is called bookshelf. I obviously had to purchase all the e books though. The best free nursing app that I have that is great is Medscape.

I always used a notebook, Nothing else...I wrote down pertinent info for myself ad lib.....I dont prefer all this techno stuff. sorry people, it just me. I jot down what I believe is necessary for my patients. I did my research at home in all my books or online . I always tried to talk to the docs when they came in and when they HAD time to chat about my patients. Thats it.

I use my iPhone for everything. I use micromedex for drugs, free in iTunes. Then I use the search engine for everything else. There are plenty of free and low cost apps but I find my go to is Google. Found a pill on the floor? Type the numbers from the pill into Google and it tells you what it is. Need to know what to do with the labs? Type it into Google. No reason to flip through books when technology is sitting in your hand.

I personally don't see how anyone would have time to fumble around with a phone while working on a busy floor. If I don't know something, I collaborate with another nurse and go on my way, takes 15sec at the most....lol
