Nursing program @ Carondelet in Tucson?

I believe it is through Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. It's either online or via cable/satellite television.

Now that I think of it... it might be through Grand Canyon University in Phoenix.

But it says PCT to ADN. That means a community college. The website says this is coming at the end of 2007.

It's through Pima ( I think).

Remember, I told you about this a while back. I was working there as a nurse extern, and one of the techs was talking about the program. It hadn't started up then. It was being done onsite..

I'll ask my former teachers at Pima when I get a chance...

Someone else today told me Rio Salado. But they were not sure.

Hmm. Well, then that would suck. But that also sounds familiar too....It could be either or...why not check/call rio's site?

Carondelet has a program through Rio salado college, and Grand Canyon University. I was told that currently they don't have the funds for the BSN program. Carondelet is a not-for-profit hospital so sometimes the funds are there and sometimes not. Hope that helps.

I work for Carondelet. The PCT to RN program is through Pima Community College. We also have a program for ASN to BSN and BSN to Master that is through Grand Canyon University. I have not heard of a shortage of funds for the any of the programs, at least in the last two years. Now that Pima has a wait that is so long (what is it now...3 or 4 years??) I would recommend the PCT to ASN tract. I like working for Carondelet, and St Joe's is opening their new women's pavillion soon...so they will be hiring more nurses.

The Carondelet website says that the PCT to RN program will be on site at the new Pavillion. Are you saying they are going to operate a remote campus through Pima at this new Pavillion?

I know a few PCTs that are going throught the program now. The way that it works, the first two semesters they took classes that were taught by staff from Carondelet using Pima College materials. I am pretty sure that they even took the same tests. The third and fourth semesters they were bleneded in with Pima regular classes (see, at Pima, they loose a few students every semester...so you may start with 100 students, but by 4th you are down to 60 or so) They seem to be tweeking the program a bit, because there are some students that are going through the program now with short breaks...rather than the entire summer off. The students are still responsible for taking all the co-requ's on their own. They had been teaching the classess at the Villa...which is a building near St Joe's....but space is tight, so I have no doubt that they will be including some class room space in the new women's pavillion.....
