Nursing interventions for CVA

I have been recently been given a research project where I have to list nursing interventions for patients with CVA if any one has some good ones I could use it would be much appreciated. I am having trouble finding things on the internet. Thanks so much

I won't give you straight out answers, but think neurological & vascular. Maybe those clues will send you in the right direction. Good luck.

Interventions during a CVA or a post CVA pt?

I won't give you answers either (we are SO mean!), but if you are looking at a post-CVA patient, think it through......what was affected, what needs to be improved and/or maintained? You really don't need to bother with the internet......pull out your good old med surg book and start flipping through. Find out what kind of affect a CVA could have on the whole patient, and what nursing interventions would benefit the patient.

Good luck.

Gee, I too, am wondering about this. My husband had a major infarct last winter, and what did they do for him in the ER?? Offered him ASPIRIN! :angryfire

When they found he couldn't swallow, that was it. Nothing more. Oh, they put an IV cannula in each arm at the elbow, but I never found out what they used them for other than to possibly draw blood....

So, what did you pick? (I'm nosy, aren't I?) :)
