You will probably have to contact the Board of Nursing of the particular state you wish to work in. They will tell you what type of documents you need, and which exams you will have to take.

I'm sorry to say that I don't believe that you can accomplish a transition to the US in an urgent or quick timeframe. I'm also not sure about a letter of equivalency: what it is or even whether you can expect to receive one from a state in which you hope to work.

I am certain that to work in the US, you will need to sit for the national licensing exam. Whether or not you qualify to do that without further classes in the US will be up to the Board of Nursing in the state in which you hope to work.

If you post your question in the International section of this forum, I think you might receive more informational answers.

What country are you looking at? NVQ to me is a UK qualification and is actually less than a BSN or Diploma

Agreed, NVQ is not used in the US at all. It is used in the UK.

Whether you are trying to work in the US or UK you will probably need to show transcripts from your school to the national or state nursing authorities so that they can assess your coursework before deciding what your diploma is equivalent to.
