Nursing as a career

Published

Can you work as a nurse (or any other healthcare profession) that mainly treats patients who require first aid.

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

Nursing is not first aid. Maybe first responder would be what you want?

Specializes in Critical Care; Cardiac; Professional Development.

That would generally be considered an EMT, not a nurse, though EMTs do so much more than simple first aid. Nurses provide a different scope of care.

Thank you for your help! Am I correct to then say that nurses would treat first aid injuries such as wounds, along with other tasks?
