Has anyone ever had problems arise during their NP program because of past disciplinary action? Any problems with credentialing or getting a job after graduation?

Interested to hear the responses to this. I am newish to all of this, have not had them deliver my discipline/have no idea if the county will come after me. I was three classes away from FNP.. 4.0. all gone?? I am so sick to my stomach every time I think about this.
What exactly happened with you?
My disciplinary action will be over in December (maybe sooner), and I will hopefully start NP school in January. My license will be clear on the BON website, but probably not on nursys.com. I've requested to have it removed from nursys.com, but I don't know if that's possible. Just waiting to hear from the BON. I have a Warning with Stipulations due to a positive pre-employment drug screen for a medication that was not prescribed to me, then a positive EtG test while being monitored due to the positive pre-employment. It's not super-major in the grand scheme of disciplinary action, but wondering if it will affect my pursuit of NP.
Okay, I read some of your other posts and got the gist of what happened. Sorry you are going through that! Have you asked your lawyer about the OIG exclusion list? From what I've read, that's one of the biggest job related obstacles that nurses face who have diverted, had their license suspended, or revoked. Maybe you can try to negotiate out of being placed on that list??

Yew, even with completion stipulations, and monitoring, I was denied from admission at all places my alma matter, as a biology mgr., before diploma programm, I wanted to do an upward mobility RN to BSN, so I could do a NP program, was devastated as at that time, had 26-27 years sobriety and complie with stipulation, had non restrictive lic.,.....and it has been 27+ years, but my school considered ny lic incumbered via nursesys.com
...and I was not unrestricted via OIG
guess a case of non forgiveness...even though I completed stipulation constraints
I literally had Tx.BON,bask me "and you are pursuing a DEA, prescriptive authority....well yes after sucessful recovery, and completion of sipulations
At at that time some 26-27 years clean
Well, who should I contact to find out what exactly will happen? The BON? I have already been working on my MSN with no problems regarding my license, but I want to transfer in to a NP program and am concerned that my background will interfere with clinicals. I was never in recovery, never diverted, the BON considers me a non-addict. Does any of that matter?
Another concern I have is the Nurse Practitioner Data Bank. I have requested to have my name removed from that, as well, but not sure if it can be done.
I just emailed the APRN department at the Texas BON regarding my concerns. I will post what I find out.
Good new from both the TXBON and the DEA! They both said that licensing will NOT be a problem due to my past disciplinary action! That's a big relief
Two questions remain for me: 1) Will my past disciplinary action affect clinicals for NP school? 2) Will it affect NP jobs and credentialing after school?
If anyone has experience with these issues, please let me know!
