I am a new unit clerk/pct in the maternity building (I was in the 'main' house for 7 years). I am set to take NRP in january... looking for resources to study!

thanks!

I just had to renew, my instructor used a new film I hadn't seen before. Contrary to most course films I've been forced to tolerate, this one was actually pretty well done. There are clips on the site linked.

the textbook of neonatal resuscitation (5th edition) co-published by the aha/aap, is the text used for the class. contact your facility's nursing educators who will be conducting this class, they should have copy of the text you can review prior to taking the course. there might be other texts on neonatal resuscitation available, but this is the only one that you will need.

if you are unable to obtain a copy of the textbook, the 2005 american heart association (aha) guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (cpr) and emergency cardiovascular care (ecc) of pediatric and neonatal patients: neonatal resuscitation guidelines are available in a pdf format on either the american academy of pediatrics or american heart association websites. i have only glanced at the two articles but it seems that they are the same.

prior to the class you need to review either the book or one of the articles as there is a lot of material to cover and a limited amount of time in the class to do so.

does anyone have information on NRP courses offered internationally??

has anyone done the NRP course online with a clinical instructor check-off portion done later?

where internationally? I wasn't aware you could do NRP online...

as for where to study from, your educator should hand out books. I try to ensure everyone has a text to study from at least 2 weeks before the class date.

thats the website for NRP in Canada. Fairly similar, we just made a few changes.

The website lists several countries where NRP is active internationally: http://www.aap.org/nrp/intl/intl_index.html.
