NP master without the NCLEX?

Published

Hello,

My name is Teresa and I am form Spain.

I was writing this message because I have a couple of questions about post graduate nursing studies.

As I said, I am from Spain and I validated my nursing degree in the USA in NY by the NYSED. I have not taken the NCLEX yet (waiting to set the date) and I was wondering if there is any possibility to start the NP master without the NCLEX passed.

Anybody can help me?

I really appreciate your help.

Thank you:):)

Every NP program I've seen requires all students to have an RN license as a requirement for admission. Unless you have been granted a license without taking NCLEX (not likely), you will need to wait to enter a program.

However, the best way to get an answer is to check with the admissions office of the program(s) to which you wish to apply.

I actually know of a few programs that will accept you prior to the NCLEX, but it is a conditional acceptance given that you will have your RN license prior to starting the program. So, I can't offer any advice on starting a NP program prior to getting licensed, but you can get accepted to one as long as your bachelors meets the entrance requirements.
