Hello, I have no visa or work permit to stay and work as a nurse. That is what I am trying to do now, to look for a sponsor. But it is really hard, yes. What I do not understand is why hospitals are willing to recruit nurses from overseas if an agency do it for them (paying more money - visa+agency fees) but they don't want to do it directly with the candidate. I will try to seek upstate then. If there are more chances. Thank you so much

I was wondering if any of you could help me a little bit about how foreign nurses have to look for a job in NYC area. I noticed that having contacts in the hospitals are not enough because the immigration paper work is tremendous. Does anybody can help me? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE:)

Hello, My name is Teresa and I am form Spain. I was writing this message because I have a couple of questions about post graduate nursing studies. As I said, I am from Spain and I validated my nursing degree in the USA in NY by the NYSED. I have not taken the NCLEX yet (waiting to set the date) and I was wondering if there is any possibility to start the NP master without the NCLEX passed. Anybody can help me? No, no. It is not insulting at all. i am just asking if anyone from a foreign country had the same problem as I have because of the long waiting. I am just talking about the NCLEX, not about jobs because this is a completely different world. Besides, I would never have thought that a nurse could post anything in a place that it is supposed to be helpful for each other, to insult. This common sense is not on the books, it is our practice.

Hello HouTx, Thank you for the message. The NCLEX exam is not mandatory in Europe whereas in other countries in the world outside the states it is. Honestly, it socks because we are a long step further than these nurses that made it after finishing the degree. I am mentioning this because this exam is required in many countries and would be amazing if I can take it and pass it. According wkth the job point that you are talking about, it is not specially concerning me right now. First, I would like to focus on the test, secondly, on the jobs. If I could not make it in the us, at least I had a better CV with this exam passed.

Hello colleagues! My name is Teresa and I am from Spain. I have been taking a look for few months to this website (that I find really helpful) and today I decided to post my story in order to ask you something. I am currently living in NYC. I WOULD LOVE to become a RN in the USA and I am working very hard for it. January last year, I started my validation process from Spain to the USA. I have been dealing with CGFNS organisation for almost a year to have the red tape done. Now, I am waiting for the letter from NYSED that, supposedly, will allow me to schedule the date of the NCLEX. Reading all the post from nurses that passed the NCLEX cheer me up so badly. However, I do not understand why is this taking soooo long, is there anybody from a foreign country that is going through the same situation? Finally, once that the letter arrives at my house, is it very long to set the date of the exam? THANK YOU SO SO MUCH! LET CHANGE THE WORLD BY NURSING! :)
