Congrats to you! I started prereqs in June 2011 and became a CNA while doing them. So many people told me it was impossible to get into nursing school on your first try in my city but hard work and good luck landed me in the ABSN program ;)So many people will tell you you can't do it --because they couldnt or they know someone else who couldn't. Listen to their advice but don't let them drag you down. Keep your eyes on the prize. Have a back up plan. And work hard. I'm starting in September. Good luck to you!!!!
Congrats and I wish you all the best in your nursing classes. Taking the pre-req's can sometimes feel like agony and seem to take forever, but once you are done and you look back, it wasn't really that long. It will probably feel the same with nursing classes too. One day, one week, one month, one semester at a time and before you know it you will be able to put R.N. after your name!

I just wanted to share my enthusiasm with the AN crowd...I am finally finished with my last prereq!!! I will officially start Nursing school in September and am both nervous and excited. I started my prereq journey in May 2011 when I decided to take a 5-week A&P I course. I've only been working at the prereqs for about 14 months, but it feels a lot longer than that! I just want to encourage anyone who is just starting out, or anyone who has been chipping away at the prereqs for a while now...just keep at it! I worked full-time while I took all these courses, so I know how burned out you can get and how sometimes it feels like it's never going to end. Keep focused on the ultimate goal of Nursing school and don't lose sight of that until you've made it!!!
